Keep an eye out for clearance areas during installation

If the mount has an adapter plate that slides into the wall plate from the top make sure you are installing with enough room. If you are installing a moveable arm mount make sure there is more than enough clearance for full movement of the swinging arm. Make sure you handle your flat panel correctly
Flat panel screens are shipped in the upright position to prevent glass breaking. This is important to remember when installing on mounting hardware as well. If you must lay the screen face down during installation, make sure you do it gently and only for a short period of time. When attaching the mount it is a good thing to check the manufacturer’s instructions about how to handle the plasma/flat panel during the installation process.
Do not alter the mount, customize the setup or add additional components if you can avoid it.
Make sure, during the installation process, that you do not void the mounting system’s manufacturer’s warranty by adding or changing components to your system. If you do add or change components you run the risk of exceeding the maximum weight capacity which can also create a potential safety issue. It is important to install the mount as said, using the hardware and fasteners provided. It is also important to add only accessories and extras that are approved by the manufacturer.
Familiarize yourself with the instruction manual
To make sure the installation goes smoothly it is important to actually read the instruction manual.
